GM Recruits Bloggers - Automotive News

Automotive News had an article in their most recent issue about GM recruiting web loggers in hopes of influencing readers to consider vehicles.  Is blogging on the horizon for auto dealerships?  We think so.

Print ads and broadcasting commercials are on the decline and GM is working with hundreds of bloggers to tout its vehicles to targeted consumers.  Other OEMs are doing the same, notably Ford and Volkswagon are cultivating bloggers.  The initiative behind it is to try to influence the influencer.

In many instances GM is bringing in prominent bloggers to press events, plant tours, etc. and wooing them about their vehicles.  This gives bloggers the ability to tell first hand stories on their blogs.
